QR Code Generator

Create QR codes for URLs, plain text, WiFi networks, and more — generated locally with adjustable size and error correction, downloadable as PNG.

The QR matrix is generated locally per ISO/IEC 18004 — your content, including any credentials, never leaves the browser.

Error Correction, Size and Print Reality

Higher error-correction levels (up to 30% damage tolerance) make codes denser, not larger — pick H for print that may get dirty or worn, L for clean screens. The two practical failure modes are contrast (dark code on mid-tone background, or inverted colors that some scanners refuse) and quiet zone: the code needs its white margin, so a code pasted edge-to-edge on a flyer scans worse than the same code with breathing room. Test the final output with more than one phone before printing a batch.

How the Tool Works

  1. Choose the content type: URL, plain text, or WiFi network credentials.
  2. Fill in the fields; the tool builds the correct payload format for the type.
  3. The QR code renders locally in a canvas — no external service receives your data.
  4. Pick a size and error-correction level (higher = more damage-tolerant but denser), then download the PNG.
Formula & Technical Standard
QR encoding per ISO/IEC 18004 with Reed–Solomon error correction levels L/M/Q/H.

Typical Use

Restaurant menu link
Input: URL https://cafe.com/menu, level M
Output: PNG QR for table cards
Level M balances density and scannability for printed cards viewed at arm’s length.
WiFi sharing
Input: SSID + password as WiFi payload
Output: Guests scan to join without typing the password
The WiFi: payload format is understood natively by iOS and Android cameras.

Common Questions

Do the QR codes expire?

No. A QR code is just an encoded image of your content. Codes pointing at your own URLs last as long as those URLs do — unlike accounts on some free QR services.

Is my WiFi password sent to a server?

No. Encoding happens locally in the browser, which is essential for credentials.
