File Tools – Online Utilities & Calculators
Local file utilities for hashes, file metadata, structured text, subtitles, CSV, JSON, XML, and batch rename previews. Downloads are generated on your device.
File tools here read and transform files entirely in the browser: checksums, metadata inspection, subtitle shifts, CSV/JSON/XML conversion, and batch rename previews. Nothing is uploaded; download links are generated from your device’s memory.
Most used in File Tools
File Hash & Checksum Generator
Generate cryptographic checksums (SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512, SHA-1, MD5) and verify file integrity by comparing expected vendor hashes locally.
File Analyzer / File Information
Comprehensive browser-native file analyzer to inspect MIME types, dimensions, media streams, character counts, and cryptographic hashes without server uploads.
CSV to JSON Converter
Convert tabular data between CSV and JSON with quoted-field handling, validation, copy, and download.
All File Tools
XML Formatter & Validator
Pretty-print and minify XML documents with clear indentation and instant parsererror line/column syntax diagnostics.
JSON to YAML Converter
Move configuration data between JSON and a practical YAML subset without uploading content.
Batch File Rename Preview
Preview exactly how a batch of file names would look after your rename rules — a planning step; nothing is modified or downloaded automatically.
CSV Delimiter Converter
Re-delimit CSV/TSV data between comma, semicolon, tab, and pipe — with RFC-correct quoting so embedded separators never break fields.
Verification with hashes
After downloading a file from a mirror, compute its SHA-256 here and compare against the publisher’s published hash. A match confirms the bytes are identical. If a site only publishes MD5, use it — collision risk matters for security-critical verification, not for spotting a corrupted download.
The rename preview is deliberate
The batch renamer shows exactly what every filename would become before you commit, and produces a download of the results rather than touching your files — a browser cannot rename files on disk directly, so the tool generates a mapping (and optionally renamed copies) instead. This is a safety feature: nothing is modified until you choose to act on the preview.
Common mistakes
- Comparing hashes copied with a trailing newline or different letter case.
- Assuming CSV→JSON conversion type-infers values — "007" stays a string unless the tool says otherwise.
- Shifting subtitles by the wrong sign: a subtitle appearing too early needs a positive (later) shift; test with ±1 s before applying a large value.
