Date & Time

Business Days Calculator

Count working days between two dates, or find the date N business days from today — with configurable weekends and holiday exclusion.

Weekend definition

Weekend and holiday rules are fully configurable so the result is exact for any country. Runs locally.

The Weekend Is Not the Only Exclusion

Business-day math assumes Saturday and Sunday are non-working, which matches much of the world but not the standard working week in several Middle Eastern countries (Sunday–Thursday). Public holidays are the bigger gap: they are national, regional and sometimes municipal, and movable ones (Easter-related, lunar calendar) shift every year. For anything with legal consequences — filing deadlines, contractual notice — use this result as a planning estimate and confirm against the official holiday calendar of the relevant jurisdiction.

How the Dates Are Calculated

  1. Choose count mode (days between two dates) or add mode (start date plus N business days).
  2. Pick which weekdays count as the weekend — the default Sat+Sun, but Fri+Sat and Sunday-only are common worldwide.
  3. Optionally paste a list of holiday dates (one per line) to exclude them from the count.
  4. Both the business-day count and the total calendar span are reported.
Formula & Technical Standard
Iterates calendar days, skipping configured weekend days and holiday list entries.

Worked Example

Delivery estimate
Input: 5 business days from Monday, Sat/Sun weekend
Output: Delivers the following Monday
Adding working days skips the weekend — a promise many logistics pages make in business days.
Count with holidays
Input: Two public holidays inside the range
Output: Count reduced by 2
Holiday exclusion gives the true staffing-days figure for project planning.

Common Questions

Which countries’ holidays does it know?

None automatically — holidays are country- and region-specific, so you paste your own list. This keeps the tool exact everywhere.

Can the weekend be only one day?

Yes. Some work schedules use Sunday-only weekends; pick any combination of weekdays as non-working.
