Reverse Text Generator
Flip text backwards character by character, reverse word order, or reverse the order of lines — instantly and locally.
Reversal happens locally in your browser.
What Reversal Breaks: Emoji, Accents and RTL
Character-by-character reversal breaks on anything stored as more than one code point: emoji made of a base character plus modifiers can come out garbled, and accented letters stored as base + combining mark (e.g. "e" + U+0301) end up with the accent on the wrong letter. This tool reverses by Unicode code points; languages written right-to-left are also tricky, because reversing a Hebrew or Arabic string changes the character order but the browser then renders the logical order again — visually double-reversing it.
Where It Is Actually Used
- Palindrome checks in coding exercises and interview screening.
- Mirrored text for stencil/iron-on transfers, where the design must print mirrored.
- Simple obfuscation of spoiler or answer strings in quizzes and games.
What Gets Reversed
- Type or paste your text.
- Choose the reversal mode: characters (mirror writing), words (last word first), or lines (bottom to top).
- The reversed result appears immediately — copy it or download it as a .txt file.

Common Questions
Does emoji survive reversal?
Multi-character emoji sequences can break apart when reversed character by character. Plain text, accented letters, and single-codepoint emoji reverse cleanly.
Why would I reverse lines instead of characters?
Line reversal is a common trick for reading logs newest-first or for reversing the order of lists without resorting manually.
